Not only Google – Meet other search engines

So you use Google to search the web, right?

Google is a search engine that was created in 1998 by Larry Page and Sergey Brin. As of September 2016, it has over 1 billion monthly active users

However, there are other search engines! Here is a list of several alternative search engines: Yahoo !, Bing (created in 2009), DuckDuckGo (created in 2008), Baidu (created in 1999), and Ask Jeeves (founded in 1997). They all have different functions and benefits for different people. For example, Yahoo! has an e-mail service called Yahoomail, which allows users to access their mail via a website or through applications on mobile devices such as iPhones or Android phones. Bing also offers similar services, such as Outlook (email service), Skype (free calling and chat service), and Bing Maps (called MapQuest by some), and of course all of these search engines have their own social networking sites.

Bing is currently one of the most popular search engines that was created in 2009 by Microsoft.

Bing, Google, Yahoo !, DuckDuckGo, Baidu, and Ask Jeeves are search engines that get you results without keeping track of the searches you make. This means that they will not save your personal data or sell it to other companies.

Nowadays, most of the search engines are used on mobile devices such as cell phones and tablets. Although you are more likely to be using Google, Bing, Yahoo! and DuckDuckGo on mobile devices than Baidu, Ask Jeeves also have mobile versions.

Why is it worth trying to use other search engines?

There are so many reasons why you should try other search engines besides Google. Search engines have specialized in detecting the websites that best match the search term entered by the user. They also display different results depending on location, time, and what they think is more appropriate. Only a few search engines have all of these features, but most have the basic ones. Many pages have switched to other search engines because Google doesn’t always show the most relevant results even though it uses over 200 factors to determine them, so keep reading!
